Sustainability a DNC legacy

Sustain Charlotte founder Shannon Binns calls the B-Cycle program the best addition to the city in terms of sustainable legacies that came out of the convention. “I’m not sure it would have happened if the DNC hadn’t come to Charlotte,” he says.  Binns also praises the widespread use of refillable water stations and an increase in recycling containers.  “The mayor deserves credit for choosing sustainability as one of the legacies from the convention,” Binns says

 

Mayor Anthony Foxx developed the “legacy programs” that are expected to remain long after the convention. Those initiatives fall under four categories: Healthy Children, Healthy Families; Youth Employment and Civic Education; Building a Broader, More Inclusive Economy; and Energy, Technology, and Sustainability. READ MORE
