How will Charlotte grow?: Understanding new development rules

What to expect:

The Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) is a set of city rules that align Charlotte's growth with our community's goals. The UDO was implemented on June 1. What does that mean for the average resident? How can you actively participate in the process of mapping how neighborhoods will grow and where the city government should focus resources?

Join us beginning at 6:00 for light fare and social time. From 6:30-7:30 p.m., we'll have a short presentation by city planning staff about the projects and development areas the UDO covers, followed by a moderated panel discussion between community leaders and advocates. This free event includes time for audience questions and comments and an opportunity to meet fellow Charlotte-area residents who care about the future of our city.

Location: The event will be in the Gama Goat Building, Suite 200 at 1801 N. Graham St. This is in the long building in Camp North End that's along N. Graham St. Parking is available in the lot just north of the building, and then you can walk along the sidewalk and building to reach Suite 200. We'll have Sustain Charlotte signs pointing the way. The venue can be reached by CATS bus route 22 (N Graham St) and 21 (Statesville Ave).

While we won't have childcare available, you're welcome to bring your kids and supervise them.

Accessibility: We want this event to be welcoming and accessible for everyone. If you require accommodations to be able to fully participate, please contact Meg at [email protected]
