"City planners are working with Sustain Charlotte on initiatives that could permanently transform streets into more pedestrian-friendly spaces. The Charlotte Observer notes the section of South Tryon Street around the newly painted Black Lives Matter mural, while not part of the Shared Streets program, is serving as an experiment of sorts to gather feedback from businesses and residents in the area. That part of the road is to remain closed through September."
