Charlotte may follow in the footsteps of Atlanta, Washington and Baltimore by developing a comprehensive sustainability plan for city operations. City Council’s environment committee — led by new council member John Autry — heard presentations Monday from Shannon Binns, executive director of Sustain Charlotte, and Helene Hilger, director of the Infrastructure, Design, Environment and Sustainability Center at UNC Charlotte.
